Pair of candelabras with Putti by Claude Galle

Claude Galle - Pair of chiseled gilt bronze Putti candelabras late 18th or early 19th century

An important pair of beautiful candelabras in finely chiseled gilt bronze with Mercury (gilding of the period) in the pure Louis XVI style. Our candelabras are composed of terraces on which are placed circular columns with flutes decorated with garlands of flowers supporting rocks on which are sitting the Putti supporting the bouquets of each six lights.

We have restored and cleaned these objects of Art. On dismantling the mark of Claude Galle, as well as numbers, appear inside several pieces. Claude Galle being known for his wonderful realizations of Empire style, we are going to document to confirm our attribution to this fabulous bronzer.

Beautiful and elegant French work of the late 18th or early 19th century in the Louis XVI style, the marks found could permit an attribution to Claude Galle.

In fine original condition and conservation, in their gilding with Mercury of the period, which presents some wear in places. We report the restoration of a branch that presented weaknesses.
