Palais Royal French Louis XV period, Rare Gilt-Bronze and Cut-Crystal Chandelier Circa 1760-1770

Palais Royal, Chambre des Huissiers de Paris, a prestigious provenance for this rare, elegant and beautiful chandelier of cage form from the Louis XV period, in bronze formerly gilded with mercury (still partly in its original gilding), with a superb white and smoked cut crystal decoration, formed by large plates, numerous stars and rosettes, nine cut crystal daggers on the periphery, and a beautiful cut crystal central shaft. Our chandelier ends with an important cut crystal ball.

This chandelier illuminates by six arm-lights in the periphery, we took the decision to illuminate it by means of Grand Siècle candles.

Elegant and rare French Louis XV period chandelier from the mid-18th century circa 1760-1770.

In very good original condition. The chandelier has been cleaned and retains some of its original gilding. Assembly of a Grand Siècle electric candle system according to European standards.
