Return of fishing, painting by Verreaux

Oil on canvas of Louis Léon Nicolas Verreaux presenting a return of fishing. Originally from Boulogne-sur-mer where he lived for many years, he was familiar with scenes of daily life by the sea.


Pupil of JJ Lecurieux, he won many exhibitions and shows. We find him in particular in the universal exhibition of 1878.

 

The painting is signed in the lower left corner and dated 1852. Very beautiful carved and gilded wood frame.
