Romeo Rega, Pair of lamps in chromed and gilt metal

Pair of square and openwork lamps in chromed and gilt metal.
Work realized in the 1970’s.

Romeo Rega (1904-1968) was an Italian designer who created furniture that mixed modernism and glamour by the use of gilt and silvered metal combined with glass, stone or wood for furniture with elegant geometrical shapes. The Romeo Rega brand was launched after the designer’s death, in 1969, and produced lightings, tables, chairs recognizable by the double R stamped on his creations. The production ceased in 1981. Little known by the public, his production passed through decades by their modernism, their elegant shapes and the subtle mix of materials.
