André-Aleth Masson
André-Aleth Masson (1919-2009) known as André Masson was born on December 20, 1919 near Saint-Malo. This ceramist, not to be confused with the surrealist painter of the same name, was first trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rennes before entering the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Summer 1945: André-Aleth Masson meets Denis Blin who will become his wife. Trained near Montpellier at the Fontcarrade Ceramic School, he began a career as a ceramist and eventually settled with his wife and children near Senlis.
A renowned ceramist, he is a member of the Mur Vivant, a group that allows him to see ceramics in a more monumental and architectural approach.
