Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard

Gunnar Nielsen Tibergaard was a Danish designer, born in 1925, known for his contributions in the fields of furniture and lighting. He worked for several design companies, including the famous furniture company Fritz Hansen.

Tibergaard studied design at the Copenhagen School of Art and Design and began his career working for several design companies in Denmark. In the 1950s, he began working for Fritz Hansen, where he designed several pieces of furniture and lighting, including the "Minipoint" desk lamp and the "Lilje" chair.

Tibergaard's designs are characterized by their elegant simplicity, functionality and attention to detail. He has often used natural materials such as wood and leather, and his designs have been widely recognized for their craftsmanship and durability.

Tibergaard has received several awards for his work, including the Gold Medal from the Royal Danish Industrial Design Society. His designs are also featured in the permanent collections of several art and design museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Copenhagen.
