Guy Lefèvre

Guy Lefèvre (1919-1991) was a renowned French designer, known for his work in the 1950s and 1960s. He worked for several major French companies such as Airborne, Steiner, Jieldé and Artifort, and designed elegant and functional furniture and lighting.

Lefèvre began his career as an engineer, but soon turned to furniture design. He was influenced by the modernist movement and sought to create innovative and elegant pieces that would meet the needs of modern life.

One of his most famous designs is the "Tonneau" chair (1953), designed for Airborne, which won an award at the Milan Triennale in 1954. This chair became a symbol of French design in the 1950s.

Lefèvre was also known for his lighting fixtures, including the famous "Jieldé" lamp (1950), an articulated lamp model that is still in production today.
