Lalanne

François Xavier and Claude Lalanne met in 1952. They decided to work together from 1956 and got married in 1967.
Born on August 27, 1908 in Agen, France, he studied art at the Académie Julian in Paris. Upon his arrival in the city, he was introduced to many surrealist figures, such as Man Ray, Max Ernst and Marcel Duchamp. 
was a French sculptor. At his first gallery show, he met the love of his life, Claude. They became the Lalanne family and developed a world of sculptures close to nature. The collaborations are numerous: in the world of fashion with Yves Saint-Laurent.
Internationally recognized, Lalanne's sheep have become iconic seats, as well as their sculptures of monkeys or their tableware. The Lalanne auction has seen the price of their works explode.
