Luigi Gorgoni

Luigi Gorgoni (1925-2007) was an Italian architect and designer. He is best known for his work in interior architecture and furniture design.

Gorgoni studied architecture at the University of Rome, where he was influenced by the modernist movement in architecture and design. He went on to work for major Italian design companies, including Cassina and Artemide, where he created furniture and lighting that have become icons of Italian design.

He also designed interiors for stores, offices and private homes, using modern materials such as glass, steel and concrete. His designs were often characterized by an elegant, minimalist aesthetic, with a focus on functionality and ergonomics.

Gorgoni has received numerous awards for his work, including the prestigious Compasso d'Oro, and his designs have been featured in international art and design exhibitions. His contributions have been significant in the development of modern Italian design and he is considered one of the greatest Italian designers of the 20th century.
