Korochansky, Shepherdess on the moor

Born in Odessa in 1866, Michel Korochansky died in 1925 in Montigny-sur-Loing.
He arrived in Paris in the 1880s and studied at the Julian Academy with painters William Bougereau and Tony Robert-Fleury.
He is fond of landscapes, the Fontainebleau region, the seaside and portraits.
He was awarded a medal several times at the salons of the Society of Independent Artists.
He also illustrates Russian stories (Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, Gogol, Tourguénev...).
Our painting is painted on its original canvas, without restoration and signed, bottom left.
Its finely carved frame is in gilded wood.
