Maison Rispal
Maison Rispal is a French company specialized in the manufacture of bentwood lighting fixtures. Founded in 1924 by Jean Rispal, the company reached its peak in the 1950's and 1960's producing modernist lighting fixtures for the great names in French design such as Jacques Adnet, Mathieu Matégot, Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand.
Maison Rispal's creations are renowned for their clean design, quality craftsmanship and innovative use of bent wood. The company's lighting fixtures have been exhibited in contemporary art museums around the world, including the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and MoMA in New York.
After a period of decline in the 1970s and 1980s, Maison Rispal was relaunched in 2013 by designer and furniture restorer Amandine Chhor, who revived the production of bentwood lighting using the company's traditional techniques.
