Marcel Ramond

Marcel Ramond was a French designer born in 1915 and died in 2007. He worked in many areas of design, including furniture, lighting and art objects. He is best known for his creations in the industrial design style, which is characterized by the use of materials such as metal, plastic and glass.

Ramond studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and began his career as a designer for the lighting company Bagues. He later worked for other major French furniture and lighting companies, such as Disderot and Lunel.

Ramond's designs were often characterized by their elegant simplicity and functionality. He created many innovative lighting fixtures that were widely distributed, including the "Jupiter" lamp for Disderot and the "Cobra" lamp for Lunel. His furniture was also popular and was often exhibited in design shows and exhibitions in France and abroad.

Marcel Ramond is considered a pioneer of French industrial design and his creations have influenced many contemporary designers.
